Lussa Gin is distilled, bottled and labelled by Alicia MacInnes, Claire Fletcher and Georgina Kitching. They live in the Lussa Glen at the north end of the Isle of Jura and they distill 15 botanicals that they can grow or forage on the island. These include juniper, coriander, lemon thyme, rose petals, Scots pine and sea lettuce among others.
They formed Lussa Drinks Company in the summer of 2015 and have now produced nearly 15,000 bottles. They've been shortlisted for a Scottish Gin award and a Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Award, as well as winning Gold for best product in Scotland's Speciality Food Show 2018. They've recently been awarded a Gold medal from the IWSC for bottle design.
Lussa Gin has fresh, zesty topnotes, with an aromatic depth and smooth finish. It's best paired with a neutral tonic, a frozen wedge of lemon and a sprig of mint.
