Highland Fold Ice Cream is part of our farm business at Achinreir Farm in Argyll. We have a small fold of Highland cattle, free to forage on the natural herb-rich pasture and woodland. Although these days milking Highlander’s is not customary, in the old days they were used as ‘House-Cows’. We hand milk our cows in the traditional way and keep them with their calves during the day time.
The butterfat in Highland milk is very high, making it rich and sweet and ideal for producing a perfect gelato style natural ice cream. Argyll is fertile and full of wonderful produce; capturing the flavours around us is what we want to do, to share the freshness and wildness of the area with our customers by creating amazing ice cream made with the best of local and natural ingredients.
We sell our ice cream from the farm, at events & small shop, restaurant and cafe outlets; our summer tour with our converted horse trailer visits festivals and shows and our trailer can be booked for private events with a bespoke menu of ice cream to suit individual celebrations.

Our signature ‘Pure Highland’ ice cream is made with milk from our own Highland cows. It’s a deliciously light plain ice cream with a touch of vanilla to bring out the flavour of the Highlander Milk.
Our “Natural Flavours” range is made with Scottish organic milk with natural ingredients and includes our popular Organic Vanilla, Amazing Chocolate, Coffee Break, Berries & Cream and Scrumptious Salted Caramel along with seasonal treats such as Rhubarb & Ginger, Bramble & Wild Thyme or Black currant, Honey and Rosemary.
We make a selection of fresh fruit sorbet and dairy free ice cream, using oat milk and delicious natural ingredients.
We also create beautiful ice cream cakes, made to order for a special occasions, these are available in a variety of sizes and seasonal flavours.
