Frequently Asked Questions
Who will I see at Scotland’s Speciality Food Show 2012?
You will see over 120 quality, Scottish, UK and international suppliers of speciality food and drink and gift food.
Can anyone visit?
It is a trade only show, which means that you need to be able to prove you are a part of the retail trade. Exhibitors have a 'minimum order' policy and will not sell to members of the public.
Do I need to provide proof of trade?
Spot checks for proof of trade will be in operation. You should have proof of trade on you - which can include a business card or a company cheque book.
How do I register?
You can register now online by clicking on the 'Register Now' button at the top of the page.
How can I register my colleague?
You can register them on the registration page of the website by clicking the 'Register a Colleague' link.
How much does it cost to visit?
If you pre-register prior to the show you will save yourself the £10 onsite fee. For all those who aren't pre-registered they will have to pay the onsite £10 fee.
When do I get my badge?
If you have registered in plenty of time, you will receive your badge in the post approximately 2 weeks before the show (this will be the 2nd week of January). If your badge does not arrive for any reason at all simply bring a record of your badge reference number and our registration staff will print you off a badge at the show.
Can I bring my young child with me?
If you choose to bring a young child with you, you must be responsible for the child, and be aware that we have no crèche facilities. We do not promote the fair as a suitable environment for children.
Where can I park?
There are over 2000 car parking spaces at the SECC. There is a £6 charge for parking on-site. There are trains and taxis from Central Glasgow as well (please see 'Planning Your Visit' in the Visiting section).
Can I obtain a visa to travel to the show?
The organisers of SSFS regret that they are not able to send out letters of invitation for visitors from overseas in order to help them secure visas. If your business is relevant to STF you will be able to prove this to the British Embassy in your country by providing proof of your employment and the nature of your employer’s business. Please DO NOT contact the organisers as all requests for letters of invitation will be denied.
